Just curious...

Why is Verizon always the last to release new Blackberry models? And why are they the last to release the 4.5 OS?

I suspect it is market pressure. Verizon and Sprint are the primary CDMA players, but worldwide GSM is much broader. Who would you develop an OS for first? It is simply good business practice.

Verizon has OS 4.3 which has video camera support on steaming media playability before anyone else. They also had the first 96MB Curve

By the way there isn't a whole lot of differences between 4.3 and 4.5 except the html email and some visual aspects.

Remind me to hire you for an open position I have for scheduling manufacturing priorities -- NOT! Why ask a question if you don't want to hear the answer.

ditto the switch from text to html email on the 8330 and Thunder is the next exciting thing to see for Blackberry.

Verizon more thoroughly tests the hardware and software than other carriers do, possibly too much. But in the end they are great.

And you DO realize that you don't HAVE to wait for them to release BB OS software. Other than the themes and possibly the language packs and any other software they may choose to add in addition to the RIM software, there is really no difference from carrier to carrier. I'm running my Curve on software released by MTS Mobility and it works great.
