Default WiFi Media Sync Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I set up WiFi Media Sync, and have managed to sync using the USB connection.

However, when I try to sync using WiFi, I first get a message that it is "looking for desktop" and then "connect to home Wi-Fi network". It IS connected to the home network--the same one I used to run the Desktop Manager and do the USB sync.

I thought perhaps it was a firewall issue, but disabling the firewall doesn't make any difference. I also happen to have two computers connected on this network (as well as a Roku media device), so I don't know if that makes any difference.

I don't know whether iTunes needs to be running, or the Desktop Manager, but I've tried it with them running and not running.

I have rebooted the router, the computer, and done a battery pull on the Torch.

My WiFi connection from the Blackberry is fine--I can surf the net, send/receive emails, but Media Sync does not seem to see the desktop, or even know that the network is there.

Help???

The BB cannot see the PC. WIFI is designed to allow you to go to the internet and bypass the Carrier service.

Your trying to set up a PC share and use the DM on it. No Can Do.

Um,

Supposedly this is how the WiFi Media Sync is supposed to work. I know what WiFi is for--supposedly this new feature will allow you to sync wirelessly as long as you are on your home network.

I had to turn on desktop manager connect my phone and then click on tools then wi-fi music sync. It turned on sync and ran a program that is still running in the back ground. My phone shows my full itunes music library and I've sync a couple of songs. I can still sync music with out being log into desktop manager or itunes. the program that got installed when i turn on wi-fi music sync is still running in the back ground. my computer is running windows 7 64 bit pro.

I haven't had very good luck with wifi music sync. It's another good idea by RIM but, once again, poorly executed.
