I just downloaded Plazmic CDK v4.5, plus everything else that the Plazmic info page said I needed...

-BlackBerry Email and MDS Services Simulator Package v4.1.4
-BlackBerry® Device Simulators v4.3.0.97 (8130 Verizon)

I installed everything, and was prompted to download/install Java/JDK when installing the Email/MDS simulator...so I did that as well.

Plazmic runs fine, works great...but when I try to Simulate my theme, I get an error saying the simulator software I have is incompatible with my version of Plazmic. The error reads...

"The version of the current simulator (4.3.0.97) is not supported by the current theme/device combination. Some aspects of the theme may fail to theme correctly or the theme may not display on the simulator."

Does this mean I have to have a simulator for OS 4.5? If so, where do I get it? I can't seem to find it on the simulator download list on BlackBerry's website. If this isn't the problem...then what is? I'm trying to make themes for my Alltel BlackBerry Pearl 8130 (OS 4.5.0.xx).

Don't use the simulator. Just load it and try it out. You can always edit it and reload.

The only issue with that is the reboot process after adding or removing a theme. I actually haven't had that compatibilty error anymore.

Another thing I was wondering...are there places that offer pre-made pictures for themes, such as different buttons, etc? Unfortunately, I have zero artistic ability and really only know how to use bitmap editor.

Other than what is included in the CDK, no. Any PNG/JPEG will work, just have to get the sizes right.

There are a few sites out there that offer free tools to use.

Maybe BBF should make an area where us theme makers can share some tools, rather than tell you to go to another site...
