I connected to a BES within an hour of having my 8703e turned on. I can't say anything about NOT being connected to a BES. The battery seems to drain way faster than my 7100T. It charges back up very quickly too. And I have turned down my screen brightness to try to alleviate some of the battery strain. It might have to do with constantly reconnecting to service, as I am on the 48th floor.

BES or just BIS my 8703e performed the same as far as I can tell. It uses a bit more power than the 7130e in my experience but charges much faster too (not sure why). -Pk

I can leave my 8703e on for 3 days, and if I don't get any phone calls, the battery bar will not go down at all, and I'm connected to a BES, and get at least 200 e-mails a day.
