Default Max size for blackbery to handle

Hi

Does anyone of you know the max size of attachments a blackberry 8700g can handle ?

I have heard (or read on this forum) 5mb is the max. I don't know that to be true, though. I have received much much larger files of 10-20Mb (JPG, XLS, MDB etc) but I didn't even attempt to open them on the BB. So, the file e-mail with the large file attached, arrived on my BB, it was not blocked due to size.

Not really true...The file does not get delivered to the BB until you request it. The file remains on a server. I would imagine if you requested a 10mb file on the BB that it would not work..

anything over 4mb used to crash my 8700c, all i had installed on it was google maps
