I currently have a 7750 (which I was told here is crap) which is having major problems receiving calls (it goes straight to voicemail). I'm looking at a 7130e and would like to hear some comments from other users.

Yeah, the 7750 is an older model and I would definitely recommend upgrading. The 7130e is fairly new, however, it depends if you like the SureType keyboard where there is 2 letters per key. If you want to full QWERTY keyboard like the 7750, I would recommend getting an 8700.

Until you get the new BB, you could try reinstalling your handheld software on the 7750 to fix the network issue. It could be an issue with the radio software and reinstalling the handheld software will fix that.

I already tried that and even tried going back to an earlier OS but same problem.

The main problem with the 7750 is that it is a half-step in the BlackBerry development. It has the processor of the older, black-and-white, 6750 but shipped with a much more graphically intense operating system. The 7750 is constantly fighting against processor and memory limits even during basic operations.

When I was running a 7750 I found that if I were actively working in any application (composing an email, for example) calls would either go straight to voicemail or, even worse, ring through and cause an hourglass to appear and sit there taunting me and preventing me from answering the call.

The 7130e is a dramatic step forward in all areas: processor, memory, screen resolution ... add in speakerphone, Bluetooth, EvDO, and tethering support ... You'll be very pleased with the difference.

I think the only thing you will miss is the larger screen
Since there isnt a large screen CDMA device yet (I cant wait for the 8700 series in CDMA), you can go to the 7250 for the full keyboard, but lose some screen. If you go with the 7130, you have sure type (which is actually very easy) and a smaller, much higher resolution screen.
Either way, you will be please with the upgrade

I hae had my 7130e for about 6 months now and I love it. The screen is smaller but more ergonomically superior than the larger screened versions. I had a Nextel 7250 prior to this phone so I have seen and used both types. You won't be dissapointed by the 7130e.

I made the swicth from 7750 to 7130e in december and never looked back. Other than the screen size, I can't say I miss a single thing about my 7750. I have even grown to love suretype.

I changed from a 7750 to my 7130e about 2 months ago and I couldn't be happier. The form factor is a lot better and with the difference in the quality of the screen, except in outdoor light, more than makes up for the size, Bluetooth I'm not to sure about yet, I'm on my third headset and am still looking for the right one. I haven't used tethering yet and doubt I will just because the BB works well enough for my mobile needs. One thing you have to do is get a different case, I chose the Siedeo and am quite happy with it.

I'll add one more "amen" for the 7130e. Before I bought mine I was concerned about Suretype. It didn't take long for me to get used to it. In fact, it's fascinating and kind of amazing to watch. I rarely have to correct it. The most common error I get is when I want to type "see" and it wants to type "are", but that's easily corrected.
