Hi,
I just bought Pearl few days back. Like lot of BB users I do not want to pay monthly bill for data plan and I did not buy it. Well then I realized that I am missing on lot of BB's features.
My question is about networking. I have wireless home network. Why can not I use my home network on my pearl and access net? Is there any way to do it? if not then can anybody please explain why its not possible to use any adhoc wi-fi network?

The Pearl does not have wifi capability and I don't think you could do it without a data plan regardless. The best that you can hope for is to download ringtones and stand-alone applications for the Pearl. You have use the Desktop Manager to load them onto the phone.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Without a BB Data Plan your phone is pretty much a phone.
