Please Login to Remove!

Well for all of us in Pakistan, we are unable to send email attachments on BIS.
Are you guys there having the same problem or it's just over here in Pakistan?

Can someone help or confirm?

Only Mobilink, your wireless carrier, can help you. Call their customer support.

Trust me, if this was all over the world, you'll see many more posts from people unable to upload attachments.

If it is only on Mobilink, guess who you should complain to.

This has been an ongoing issue with akc786 for a couple of months now. Apparently the carrier doesn't care.

akc-- you do have the attachment service loaded on your device, right?

Well, if he keeps calling the carrier with the same frequency and persistency he is posting his story here, the carrier might start caring.

Thanks to all u guys who responded. Actually I complained Mobilink several times and they told me that it's an issue of RIM not us.
Today I was just browsing at BlackBerry and searched their Blackberry Technical Solution Center for the issue and got the results.

You guys can also verify this by going to
BlackBerry Search Results

and see the additional information.

It's RIM's issue and they are not doing anything for the last 3 monts.

So RIM is the one hiding their fault and just admitted it on Nov 7, 2007.

Well, this looks simple. Have you tried the recommended fix and did it work for you?

I am little bit surprised to read that this is because of service books corruption. By some miracle, they appear to only been corrupted for all users in Pakistan unable to send attachments through Mobilink blackberry. At least, according to you it were all Pakistani users, not just your device alone.

Because of how RIM BlackBerry is designed, it is usually easy to distinguish between RIM issues and carrier issues:

A) the issue is reported by people who have blackberries from different wireless carriers in different countries - more often than not it is RIM issue;

B) the issue is reported by people who have blackberries from same wireless carrier in a single country - it is usually an issue with the wireless carrier.

If fix suggested by RIM works for you it will be a noticeable exception from above rules to remember.

I tried the recommended fix and even visited Mobilink, the wireless carrier, and they confirmed me that all users in Pakistan have the same issue.
Moreover Mobilink confirmed that they are trying to resolve it with RIM and that RIM is giving the date Jan 2008 for the issue to resolve.
So according to Mobilink it's a RIM issue, not their's.

You are a smart man, ask yourself how could it be "The RIM Issue" if it is limited by Mobilink users?
Ask the same question in Mobilink office. Ask them to explain why that issue does not affect users with other carriers. You've got a confirmation from different people on different other carriers they can send attachments just fine.

Anyway, if they are telling you "January 2008" that would mean no fix is coming before that, doesn't matter from whom.

RIM would not give out a public date on when a "fix" would be implemented. They only acknowledge it once it is complete. Also, if it were a RIM issue, it would be affecting everyone, across all carriers.

See it yourself at RIM website

BlackBerry Search Results

Just click on the above link and look under Additional Information
RIM acknowledge that "Attachments will show an error X"
