A few 8130 gripes.
Please Login to Remove!
I have noticed lately, this is the most scratched up BB I have ever carried since I discovered them. This is the only one I have ever carried in my pocket.
I carry too much crap in my pockets I guess. The leather case makes it to bulky for me and I don't feel the vibrate very well. Also the static I get on the bluetooth when its in my pocket. The plastic belt clip that VZW sells for it it the right size but isn't built worth a crap. I have already been through four of them. I finally bought a case from walmart just for the job site.
I was sitting here listening to the birds sing and enjoying the quiet. I then looked down at my poor pitiful 8130 all scratched and looking like I bought it from a good will bin, and needed to vent. I know its my own fault for being cheap and not buying the shields available, but still makes me upset.
Thanks for listening. Pity Partys over move along.

Have to agree with Dawg-the 8100 series cases are scratch and fingerprint magnets. A good cover/holster/skin is a must.
Great devices otherwise, though!

Dawg, you know you know better.
But the pearls are just too pretty. The scars are just that. On the 8700 they are battle wounds and add to its appeal!

that sucks, this is one of my gripes with any cell phone, pocket abuse :(
they make em shiny but so easy to scratch... i semi miss the old school phones, just cause they didn't show pocket abuse to much.

Are the plastic OEM cases replaceable (or should I say "affordable")?

well verizon replaced everyone of them for free. So I have no complaints about vzw on the warranty. But everyone broke in the same exact spot.
Ako I have one scratch down the center of the screen its only noticable in the daylight

i got a little quarter inch scratch on my pearl screen about two weeks ago...i've had the phone since february so that's not bad...i don't have a screen protector, but i am uber careful...i guess it's worth the investment though, and i'm definitely going to acquire one soon...anyway, thought i was pretty lucky...it is a beautiful phone though, and i do get a ton of compliments on it...especially when i get youtube vids, or even just getting email...
