My current contract with my 7105t won't be up till November. I guess I will wait till than to get the bigger discount.

This ought to be fun. I'm several months out of contract and am waiting for the 8700 release. I have a feeling I'll be getting the "only available for new customers" runaround when I try to renew.

Certainly T-Mo's prerogative, but I may just get pi**ed off enough to take my business to Verizon (which is MY prerogative). It's not as if TMO data rates arent' going up anyway.

We'll see how T-Mo wants to play this.

If T-mo rates for unlimited BB BIS go up, I too will be switching to Verizon. I can get a bigger discount on BBs and a small discount on BB data plans as well through my company's discount program.

I tend to agree with you there. It is used so much in the recording industry. I mean I think things are either consumer products or they are pro level. Not this combined crap!

the release date i have is 4/17 and the one year price will be tentatively 399.99 :-O
it will also be dark blue/black and will be "softfeel" like a v300

of course by the time the phone is out the tmo 2 year contracts will be out and it will be cheaper.

Hi there,

I'm a new member to this forum and wanted to share the following with you all:

I just spoke to a T-Mobile wireless dept rep a few minutes ago and she verified that indeed the Blackberry 8700 was going to be released to retail stores mid-April (the 15th to be exact), just in time for tax day. The rep said that the approval was made in March and that further details will be announced on April 4th.

This is my first post so please bear with me! I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now, especially since I'm considering blackberry for the first time. I just sold my Treo650 and am eagerly anticipating the arrival of the 8700, much like you all here.

My question has to do with T-Mobile specifically...I'm in the middle of a two year contract (extended mine to get a discounted Razor when they first came out) and was under the impression I could walk into a T-Mobile store and buy the 8700 outright when it comes out. Guess I'm wrong as this would be considered an 'upgrade', right? Is it true that I'll have to wait another couple of months or so to buy one after it's released? Even if I'm willing to pay full price? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

No, if you are willing to pay full price, you can walk into the store and buy one as soon as it hits the store shelves.

Those that want special "current customer upgrade pricing" may have to wait another couple of months before that is available.

Thanks....good to know. I'm more relieved, though it will help to know more about the 'full price'! Not sure what to expect.

I just purchased a RAZR to be a second phone and I'm also getting a warranty replacement on my Sidekick in a few weeks. NICE. Can we say... eBay auction??

So if the official release is the 13th, what benefit would corporate customers have over the retail customers if any? I was actually hoping for a late March release for corporate customers.. I want the 8700 like YESTERDAY!
