Can anyone confirm receiving one of these AT&T mailers?

Anyone know if this is going to hit T-Mo?
For that matter why doesn't RIM directly sell unbranded BBs?

It is likely to hit TMo 90 days or so after AT&T releases it. However, that's just speculation based on history.

When I asked the person that I know way up in AT&T why they would dumb down the GPS for the iPhone, he just laughed. He said he reads these forums and could not stop laughing as none of the rumors were correct.

I don't think anyone knows for certain. However, I'd guess that part of it is that they're a small company and can't or don't want to deal with individual sales. Support for BB's is done via the carriers and escalated to RIM -- their sales model seems to be in line with this approach. Additionally, as many times as you see people asking about unbranded and unlocked BB's the actual percentage of people looking to buy such a device is very, very small. Most buyers are heavily swayed by price and are not going to pay the price of an unsubsidized device.

Not surprised. However, you have to admit it was a pretty good coicidence that that rumor surfaced at the same time as Google Maps and BBMaps both removed Bluetooth GPS support for the 8300. Had it not been for that fact I would have written off the report completely, as well. While not an AT&T customer, I'm happy to hear they are not disabling it.

You are right and this "person", out of 10 tip has been right on except for about two tips. He could be going for three! <vbg>
The 4th is close so we all will know soon! For those who want to GPS, it will be very nice but my SUV has a Navigational system. I am not even sure about the WiFi but all of these goddies are important to some.

I talked to my local dealer and they confirm that the 8820 will be introduced on Tuesday the 4th. He hope that they will be delivered on the 4th. In the past delivery took place on the day afterwards, I know the Curve was a day late.

Have called various at&t stores and not even one even knew when they might be getting the 8820. Has anyone found a store that has the phone??

I went to 2 stores in Manahattan (W. 34th street and the B'way and 24th street). Both acknowledged the imminent release but honestly could not tell me when they were coming in.
