Default Keypad light issue...

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

I just finished downloading a few apps (berry411, googlemaps, couple of games) and now i'm noticing that my keypad light is acting up --- it's not lighting up when i press the buttons. Just tried it right now, and it's lighting up. Somewhat eratic.

I'm not sure if this is directly correlated with the apps download, but it sure is annoying!

Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Could it just be my OS software? (didn't notice this issue prior to today --- picked up the pearl a week ago)

version 4.2.0.51

the key pad id light sensitive so maybe your just in to bright of light for it to work? Maybe go into a dark closet and see if it lights up then? I have never heard of any of those apps causing problems such as yours.

i'm not really sure what's going on with it....seems that most of the time the light underneath the pad (including the track ball) are not working.. regardless if the screen has been 'auto-dimmed'.

Ah!!

yeah, like someone mentioned before it might just be the light sensitivity. took me awhile to figure that one out but it is kinda cool with the pearl though. in a darker environment the keyboard will light up but not in a bright one. i kept playing peek-a-boo with it under my shirt to verify.

although, it quite possibly could be an entirely different issue that you all are experiencing.

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay!

My resolution to the problem was.......my ignorance! I didn't realize that the pearl's keypad did that (lights on/off according to surrounding light) until MythmbHurts mentioned it.

I did however remove a few of the freshly downloaded apps before finding out about the auto dim feature for the keypad, so I might have solved the problem in the process, if there was one at all.

First time with a BB, so I'm definitely new to the scene, and learning lots. THanks!!
