Thumbs up Checkout the Jawbone BT it's awesome!

Please Login to Remove!

You can buy these at your local Cingular retailer $119. The Silver color only. I bought one yesterday. It pairs fine with my 7100i.

And as in their video demo at www.jawbone.com this baby delivers. I was in a server room with lots of Cisco switches and Dell servers which have noisy fans and this thing canceled all of the noise. I would disable the noise canceling and there was a considerable amount of noise. Turning it back on would eliminate the backround noise. Totally amazing!!! The person I was testing this with was so convinced that he immediately went out to buy one. This product delivers on it's claims.

My next test will be driving in the car and having a conversation with the road noise. Which reminds me of one more thing I like about the jawbone. With the HS850 there were times I couldn't here the caller and would have to press the ear piece up against my ear. Not an issue with the jawbone since the earpiece goes right in the ear.

Some minor cons. I use a moto HS850, which turns on by flipping open the microphone. The jawbone you have to hit a button to turn on and off. Not a big deal, it just became second nature to close the mic and know it was off.

2nd con is my moto has a nice case that goes on my belt when not in use. As of yet there is no case for the jawbone. Both these things are not show stoppers.

If your looking for noise cancellation headset. I would recommend the jawbone without hesitation.

Wow, looks very nice. Good find. I may have to stop at Cingular on the way home today.

The website says it is taking preo-orders but does not say how much they will be...

There is a good discussion of this on HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource in the bluetooth section. It doesn't use jawbone sound conduction, it is a standard dsp headset with a button on the side that rests against your check and lets the headset know when your talking. I guess that cuts out the clipping that you get with some DSP headsets, but it isn't going to help you in the wind.

Just read about it on Engadget too!

Sounds great, and may be time for an upgrade.....

I'm hoping they'll be at the Consumer Electronics show in a couple of weeks. I'm going to see if they'll let me demo one.

Got mine today. So far it seems like it does what it says. I wanted the black one to go with my Sprint 8703e Blackberry.
I couln't wait for the shipping, so I got the grey one from Cingular. Had a few problems @first trying to fit the ear loop. It took a few hours to get it just right/ put it on the right way. Once you do it fits nice. Kind of heavy compared to my Plantronics 510. Audio wasn't as good at first since I didn't place the Jawbone as it should be. It needs to thouch your face. Once I got that going it was good. Did a few calls with some music in the background and the other side couldn't hear any music. Now to wait for Aliph to start shipping my black headsets. Price, $119 retail.

I went to Cingular and picked up the Jawbone yesterday. Very nice devise but I will say the buttons are a little difficult to push but I may need to get used to it. My big complaint is the incoming audio is very tinny sounding and this bothers me. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this tinny audio.

I will agree the buttons take getting used to. Also putting it on quickly can be a challenge. But in comparison with my HS850, it sounds great. Without exageration it sound as good as if I were using the phone itself.

No tinny here.

I appreciate the feedback hermdog. I think I will take it to the Cingular store and see what they think. I noticed a couple of the sales people had the same headset. Maybe they will let me compare theirs.

I really like everything about this device and I have owned 6 other BT devices.

Default Is there a Lag?

I was also wondering if other BB users notice a lag from the time you answer the phone to the time the person can hear you?

UPDATE: I ended up returning it the next day. Just putting that thing on was a problem. Got my money back, I'm happy.

How does it compare to the RIM HS 655? Bought mine off eBay and am very happy. Does it have a delay like some of the other BT headsets? With my RIM HS 655, no delay. Like the look of the Jawbone, so wouldn't mind having a backup.

I too had the 655, not the BB version but the plantronics. What i didnt like most with the 655 is that it absolutly does not cancel noise. Most people i spoke to hated the noise on their end. the jawbone, is completely different. It will definatly perform in that area.

In terms of lag, i cant say that i noticed anything to be a problem. I am sure there is a lag, but I dont see anything that bad.

I have found this headset to be comfortable and perform. Also the wow factor is great. everywhere i go people are staring at my headset wondering what it is. I get a lot of attention. not that i am seeking that but maybe some members out there might like the attention factor.

Has anyone tried this headset in windy conditions? Living and working in Boston, wind is a big problem and I often find myself outside walking from one place to the other where the wind destroys my calls...even if I'm just using the headset. If this thing can handle the wind...then I'll be buying.
