Angry After coming out of basement, phone does not recieve network signal

Please Login to Remove!

I live in an aprtment complex where my car is parked in the basement. Obviously, in the basement there is no network reception. Therefore the phone show a "SOS" and "Emergency calls only" on the display. That is fine and normal.

But, however when I drive out of the basement I still do not get network reception and after 10-15 minutes there is still no network reception. Then I have to "turn radio off" and then "radio on" to get network reception.

Is this normal with all the BB's or just mine.

It never happened to all my previous phones and this is becoming quite tedious every morning or everytime I drive out of my basement.

My house is in a dead zone for all providers except for Nextel (go figure). I will lose signal, but generally my BB pulls it up right away 2 blocks from my house. My old Cingular/Tmo phone (motorola SLVR L6) would go into emergency only mose and stay there until i power cycled it. You might be able to fix it by upgrading the OS version? I would try it because so far the Pearl loses my crappy Tmo signal, but it gets it right back.

this has happend to my 8100 a few times coming in and out of buildings here in the city. Just do what you said and turn the wireless on off and back on and it will pick it back up. It does not matter what OS your running since I have had them all and it still seems to happen at odd times.
