Default Is there a way to get BB Messenger from the apps folder to the home page?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

As the title states, I am trying to get the icon for the BB Messenger from within the applications folder to the home screen, its a bit of a pain having to dig for this app when needed.

I have tried to alt select a current icon and used the change app command but this did not work, so I am now out of ideas hehe.

Any help would be great!

Cheers!

I am not sure what you meant by you had ALT-Select and "change app command." You should use the Move command.

you know in the screen where there are tons of icon? (after you click in the blackberry icon/button from Today Screen)

In this screen where you see all of your applications, the first five icons are those that will also appear on your Today Screen.

Here is the screen with lots icons.

The first five icons appear on my Today Screen:

You can move your icons so that you can put any five icons/applications you want to appear in your Today Screen as the first five icons.

Just select an icon, press the BlackBerry button on the keypad, and a menu will come up, and it will give you the option of hide the icon/application, move it, show all icons (ones you hid)... once you choose "move," you can then move the icon with your trackball. press the trackball again to drop the icon at your desired location.

btw, do you use BB Messenger a lot? who do you talk to with PIN?

I think the OP was talking about the default Cingular theme.

Unfortunately, unless something has changed with this OS, no. You can't move things in and/or out of the Apps folder.

Can't you just "alt-tab" to it? Doesn't it stay on all the time. Try using Alt+that menu key next to the green call key...isn't it just always there?

Thanks,

Yes I am talking about the original Cingy theme, seems it cant be done, I will just hot key it to the side button instead of PTT.

Btw, does any one know how to get the theme RIM shows in the bb800 video? that calendar and tasks window looks a hell of alot better than the stock cingular one ;)

Cheers!
