Default Hard Shell Cases for the Javelin

Please Login to Remove!

Are there any hard shell cases for the Javelin out yet? I just got mine from Roger's last night and want to start using it ASAP. But I can't seem to find anything to protect it with. I'm surprised Seido hasn't been on this already!

Yeah, I looked on Seidio yesterday, thinking that they would have some cases out for the 8900 already. (I figured I may buy one before I get the new phone) but they didn't have one, I was hoping they would have the "hybrid" case w/holster like I had for my Curve 8320.

Seidio will bring out some very soon I guess.
They're quite fast in things like this.

Just wait some more time.

Seidio's cases should protect your phone if you drop it (which I guess is what it is for). Unfortunately, the drop will usually result in a broken Seido case.

I picked up a crystal case for the Javelin at a Battery Zone store in Toronto. The packaging was very simple and didn't have a brand name on it but it works great!

If the "crystal case" is what I think it is, I'd like to see how the 8900 version looks!

I tried purchasing some skins off amazon, and it says they dont deliver to my area. Although i recently ordered a book from them and received it fine.

Why would phone accessories be a problem? Warranty maybe?

Thanks for the pics!

It's hard to tell from the pictures, so I'll just ask: Does it have a layer of the clear plastic that covers the screen to serve as a screen protector?

T-Mobile currently carries an exclusive clear case from Speck Products for the 8300 Curve that DOES have the built-in screen protector, and I'd want the same thing for the 8900:

I'd like one like that, since I like to use the plastic holster in the car to clip my onto one of the visors. Of course, it would be better if the screen faced inward and if the holster had the magnet for "holster mode".

That is one ugly case. It takes away from the 8900's beauty. Thanks for posting the pics though.

It doesn't have a built in screen protector, I already have one though so for me it didn't matter.

For me personally as long as my BlackBerry is protected that's all that matters.

Well, that's a bit of a deal breaker for me, especially if Speck will be putting out one that does have the screen protector built-in.

I've tried a lot of cases for stuff and one thing's for sure: if the case comes with plastic that covers the screen it'll scratch like crazy. Of course the whole thing scratches (it's plastic), but scratches over the screen will bug you. If you use a plastic case without the screen covered you can either get a package of separate screen protectors for $8 (which won't scratch as much because the screen is recessed into the plastic case) or no screen protector. The Seidio cases are cool, no screen protection, very slim and fit really tight. Current screens don't scratch very easily either.
