Default Blackberry Manager via remote access

Please Login to Remove!

We have Exchange BES server, latest version SP6.
I am getting so tired of having to add/remove users, set activation passwords, etc for our helpdesk. I there any practical way I can give lower level administrators limited access to a Blackberry Manager from their workstations to do the work themselves? I dont' want them to RDP to our Blackberry servers.

Sure.
Just set up Role Based Administration for those users and install BlackBerry Manager on their desktops.

Instructions for doing this are included in the BES documentation.

I would like to just throw in a POV here for the lower level admins that would get this job.

Here in Australia, BB is in the first to second stages of growth with most companies just realising just how good these devices are and they in turn are screaming for Blackberry Admins to run their environments.

Might I suggest, as being one of these people that is trying desperatly to get my company to take notice of me and get them to realise that I want to get into the engineering side and to get more involved with the environment.

Sure give them limited access to the Manager, but also see if there's anyone there that REALLY would like to get to know the environment so that ultimately, your work load lessens because there's another admin that can do it.

Give the us lower 1st and 2nd level's a break!!!!

Just a thought!

If you aren't interested in installing the client, you can also go the web based route with BerryStats. Advantage being you have one installation on a web server (which can result in faster times to perform functions, et.c).

What types of roles are you limiting them to as far as user admin functions?
