You're out of luck for now, until a solution is found. Apparently -- from what I have read -- the existing generic service books which were allowing your Storm to work on Tmobile have been discontinued and not updated yet. For now, there is nothing you can do.

Is this still an ongoing issue for unlocked Storms?

This is not specific to the Storm.

Unlocked phones of all sorts have issues working in outside carriers.

The solution? Come to Verizon or select a branded phone, there are plenty of fine ones. The Storm actually isn't all that.

Im not sure if it is of any help or use at all but T-mobile DO support the storm 2 (9520) in the UK !! it is a phone that they do distribute and sell, I have a T-mobile branded storm 2, i have needed the service books to be re sent to me a couple of times through their customer services, it may be worth a look at www dot t-mobile dot co dot uk

Doesn't help at all for TMO US which is what original post referred to.

TX Lady,

the Tour is a wonderful phone. If you are Blackberry oriented, I strongly urge you to stick with your Tour. The Storm simply isn't where it needs to be as a touchscreen device. RIM rushed this phone into circulation and it has fallen short every step of the way.

If you need a touchscreen device, go outside the Blackberry family for the touchscreen platform. I am partial to Droid, but don't take my word. I was a Blackberry Storm fanatic until I handled and manipulated a Droid.

Try one, then let me know your feelings. I am willing to bet you will be rather impressed.
