Default Anyway to change text/email received tone?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a file that says "you've got mail" and would like to change the 8100 to use that instead of the default tone when new txt/mail comes in. Anyway to change that? If so, where and how? Thanks!

Go into the "Profiles" icon. Select the active profile. You can change the sounds there.

You have to create a new profile. Within that profile, the Pearl allows you to customize every notifier for every kind of message.

That sounds like my ringtone/notifier that I posted here for people to download and use, the AOL guy saying "you've got mail."

Search the Forum in here, there are many posts that discuss how to set up ringtones and notifiers.

As I recall, I posted a "how to" in the thread where I posted about 50 ringtones for download.

You need to go through certain procedures depending on where you "install" the ringtone, on the Pearl's memory or on a MicroSD chip. So read up and pay attention.

It matters because some ringtones take up precious space on the Pearl, so it's better to install all your ringtones on to a MicroSD chip.

No need to set up a separate profile, although one can.

I have never set up a new profile on my phone, I simply went into:

Profiles

Advanced

highlighted "Loud"

Pressed "edit" and

Selected notifiers and ringtones for my default "Loud" profile.
