Unhappy duplicate calendar entries

I have a blackberry 7250 running v4.0.0.204 software and a BES server v4.0.1.16. When I enter an appoitment in the calendar from the blackberry, I get a duplicate entry on the blackberry but not in outlook 2003. When I make a Calendar entry in outlook 2003 I get no duplicates. I've read that this can be a cdo.dll problem but the version on the BES and Exchange 2003 are the same. I have also read that if you go:TOOLS > OPTIONS > PREFERENCES > EMAIL OPTIONS > TRACKING OPTIONS and turn OFF PROCESS RECEIPTS AND REQUESTS ON ARRIVAL in outlook that it can solve the problem but that has not worked for me. Does anyone have any idea how I can solve my problem?

Does the duplicate on the handheld appear immediately, or only after the appointment syncs to the BES and back down to the handheld?

Not really too sure on this one. Probably something that support would need to look a the logs to troubleshoot.

It doesn't show immediately, the duplicate seems to show after the sync. About 20 seconds after the first one.

Have you looked at the MAGT logs to see if there are any CDO exceptions occuring for the user in question? It sounds like the BES isn't matching up the appointment it puts into Exchange with the one that is on the handheld, so it is creating a secondary one on the handheld.

Is this for all handhelds on the BES, or only one?

I am getting the following warnings for the user in the event viewer: CDOCalendar::UpdateAppointment - Exception handled.
Synchronize() failed: ERR_FAIL, Tag=5228\
SaveSensitivityCDO-Exception
CDOCalendar::RIMEventtoCDOAppointment - Exception handled.
Synchronize() failed: ERR_FAIL, Tag=5230
CDOCalendar::GetNewAppointment - Exception handled.
Synchronize() failed: ERR_NETWORK_PROBLEM, Tag=5231
CDOCalendar::~CDOCalendar() - Exception handle

this is just happening for the one handheld. It is the only one runnig v4 software, the others are running v3.6.

I'm not sure that 4.0 HH software would be the culprit here. Are the other 3.6 users on the BES using wireless calendaring? Assuming they are, and they are functioning correctly, are they on the same Exchange server/information store as the v4 HH user?

I believe the ERR_NETWORK_PROBLEM (0x80040115 MAPI response code) is only seen when a transaction times out or is unable to reach the destination host in the first place.

Is the Exchange server v4 HH user on in a different domain possibly?

and what are the CDO.dll versions on both the BES and the Exchange server? and where do you have the CDO.dll file located on the BES (exact path)?

also, just something to try - go to the options in the Calendar on the handheld and change Wireless Sync to No. open Desktop Manager, then go to Backup and Restore and click on Advanced. select Calendar from the right side and then click on Clear. go back to the Calendar options on the handheld and change Wireless Sync back to Yes. this will clear all calendar appointments and then synchronize them wirelessly, again - however, it gives you a clean slate, so to speak.

i have 7250/exchange/bes 4.0.....i get duplicate entries on handheld after entering first appointment in a while....2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on entries do not duplicate on handheld.....desktop never shows duplicate......i have tried email options/tracking/process requests upon arrival etc. and that did not work....any solutions

Only with mine it seems to only dup when outlook is open... I also get no recurring appts.

I have done everything Ive found thru google....save blow away and reinstall handheld software.

Question: Is this for all entries or only all day entries?

If it is for all day entries check your daylight savings time setting in Outlook, pc, and blackberry.
