my bb9700 is less than one year old, battery is about 3 month old. recently the battery life is too short. OS platform:5.1.0.175, app version: 5.0.0.862(1446).

I don't have any application running in the background, except those can't close: brower, home screen, phone, bb messenger, message. I have three personal emails and one corporate email(BES).

in the past, usually it can last for more than one day, with light use of phone, email, map etc.

but recently the battery can't last for a few hours: fully charged at 11PM and left it overnight, at 6am the battery only has 60% of life!

what could be the culprit: device, OS, or battery?

Maybe the BES? Do you have it shut down at night?

BES is corporate control so I have no idea, I will check with the network admin.

Usually I do shut it down at 11pm and set alarm at 6am to get up, the recently it didn't wake up and fire the alarm at all because the battery is completely out, one time I noticed that the device is very hot. When I do the test last night, I fully charged it by 11pm and didn't shut it down, this morning the battery is at 60%.
