OK, I have tried just about everything I can think of but I have my Curve 8310 connected via USB cable in order to update the OS to 4.5, yet the DM says NONE connected.

WHY won't this work???

FYI for everyone....

I had the same problem and found that the driver for the phone became corrupted/uninstalled/bill gates-ified. Through the trouble shooting in the PC's device manager I was able to reinstall the driver and the DM then recognized my phone.

You probably need to mention what you have tried so other members need not repeat them. . .

Have you checked your cable connection on both ends for proper connection? . . . have you rebooted your PC? . . . pulled battery on BB? . . . installed new software on PC? . . . attached new USB device to PC? . . . updated PC?
