If you're doing a lot of driving and using a lot of GPS, I would say go with the Garmin. I tried out the Telenav service on my 8310 and was not that impressed. It was constantly "checking" the route and it interfered with the spoken directions and overall experience. Google Maps works fantastically, though my guess is if you do a lot of driving then you need the spoken directions.
You could always get both and test them out together then return the one that doesn't cut it.
