Default default email address

Please Login to Remove!

I just purchased the Tour and have three email address being pushed to the Blackberry. Is there anyway to permanently designate one of the three as my "default" address. It seems that when I compose a message that it randomly picks one of the three email address as the send from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you set the default services, and it still isn't taking. Do a battery pull.

Are you sure it's "randomly" picking that address?

The BB defaults to the last account you used for the target contact (way cool, old feature).

In my opinion the best way to have email come immediately to your Blackberry if you have more than one email address is to create a designated email address for your BlackBerry such as [email address] (assuming you use Verizon) and then go to the web site of your server, in my case Comcast, and have the server forward all emails to your Blackberry and at the same time keep those emails remaining on the server so you can access them from your main/laptop computers. I have been doing it this way ever since I got my 8830 over two years ago!

With todays email there really is no need to do it this way anymore. Most email carriers are pretty quick with delivery.

Very true, Gmail and Yahoo are IMAP supported so their response times are noticeably quicker.

Thanks for all the help and responses. It appears that it does default to the last email address used. I guess I will just have to keep aware before sending emails in the future.

Another stop gap is to use the separte e-mail icons on your home page. Not something I prefer

You don't need to forward your mail to your BB to make that work...
