Is there any known way that the Blackberry 8700c can be used as a kind of Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB), Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) or Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) so you could be located if necessary when a cell phone is out of tower range? Does already having a GPS make this possible in any way? Is there software available that might do this?
