Default Youtube and TMobile

Please Login to Remove!

Based on a review of previous threads, it appears that it may just be that TMobile (U.S.) does not support the viewing of Youtube videos directly at m.youtube.com using OS 4.5. (This, even though a number of users on AT&T and perhaps other carriers report being able to watch the videos at that site using OS 4.5.)

This thread does not seek a work-around, such as going to a different site to access the videos through a different server or after they have been converted to a different format. No, this thread seeks information from TMobile (U.S.) users about whether and when direct m.youtube.com access starts working for you---and perhaps to let TMobile (U.S.) know, if it is at fault, that it should address this.

Any successful TMO (U.S.) users accessing videos successfully directly at m.youtube.com? If so, please share your settings (OS, BES-or-BIS, TCP settings, BB model #, etc.). If not, pleast post to let us know that you're having trouble as well.

Cheers!

It's not painfully choppy for you? I tried viewing videos while on wifi but it won't let me and throws errors.

On a related not, using T-Mobile my buddy was able to stream a Yankees game over SlingBox onto his Blackjack and it was very good. So EDGE is acceptable for streaming. Good news for T-Mobile users.

Is the key to watching YouTube wi-fi? Because I don't use wi-fi and I cannot stream anything from YouTube with a five-bar EDGE signal. The videos try like heck to download but they get all bitmapped and then end up locking up.

No issues with Tmobile and 4.5 with youtube here. I've had (almost) every BETA on my phone that's out (with the exception of the .37 that fried TMO cards), and have never had any streaming issues.

I'm curious, what's your file free at? (for those of you having issues)

Since upgrading to 4.5 on my 8320 with T-Mobile I've watched YouTube videos over Wi-Fi and EDGE with no issues. The very first time I tried the phone did reboot, but not since then.

To the folks saying it doesn't work, can you post more detail? Simply saying it doesn't work really doesn't help anyone to help you.

Check out my post above, what other info would u like/need? I'm out of guesses on what else to possibly look at. (i've tried via EDGE and Wifi) on both BB browser as well as Opera Mini 4.1

Hey Dave,

Everything seems to work fine all the way up to when the vid starts/tries to load. The media player just gets stuck with the green "loading" bar on the top right corner. After a few minutes I just give up and stop the player before it drains all resources and battery. Any ideas? This is with WIFI as well as EDGE

For a minute my heart skipped a beat becasue I thought you said slinging on his blackberry... Then I re-read and you said blackjack. I was wondering where the hell I've been if there's been a Slingplayer for blackberry out there in the wilds that I didn't know about. It's still vaporware as far as I know...

Either it's taking a while to download the video to your device or you should reload the OS.

How much free memory do you have and how long is the video you're trying to view?

File Free = 11859066 Bytes I've tried only small vids....most under 1 minute in length. I just tried one that is 20 seconds. I'd hate to reload the OS but if I must, I must.... any other ideas first?
