Default 8700c Network Time issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all -

How do I get the current Network time to display on my 8700c main screen? No matter where I travel to, my local time (CA/Pacific) shows on the main screen, and the current network time shows under the date/time option, and I have "network" selected for the choice. If I change the time zone to whatever time zone I'm in, then the network time shows on the main screen. I travel every week and would really like the current local time updated on the main screen when I turn on the phone whereever I land.

Thanks!!

The Blackberry devices currently do not have the option to set time zone automatically. You must manually change the time zone.

Hope this helps.

In fact, most PDA-type devices do not do this as it affects the appointments.

Yes, it affects the appts, correctly entered appts will always appear at the correct time for the time zone currently set. That way you won't miss an appt when you change time zones while travelling. And it allows corret syncing with Outlook.

Hope this helps.

If it didn't change the appts to the correc0t time, how did you keep you appts straight. Did you have to set them to the appropriate time for the zone where they were to be kept? If so, that's lame. And wouldn't work with syncing to Outlook meeting invites originating from other time zones. I couldn't work with that.

Hope this helps.

The original question was not how to change the timezone, it was how to display network time instead of timezone time.
I am interested in this for my 7290 also. I am having a hard time believing that BB did not provide this option. My Sprint character-based cellphone can change the time display automatically.

Believe. It does not have this feature.

Your cell phone does not have to deal to hundreds of appointments that can be affected by TZ change.
