Does anyone have insight as to the timing on when verizon will launch the 7130? Should i wait or go ahead and get the verizon 7250? I have an old tmobile 6230 with terrible phone coverage in my area. Appreciate any advice.

Look in the Rumor Mill section (Possible Verizon 7130e FCC Approval).

Default Verizon 7130

The Verizon 7130 is supposed to be out by Thanksgiving 2005 according to a freind of mine who runs several Verizon stores. Latest would be early December.

I'd wait for the 7130. I have a T-Mobile 7230 which is a) awkward to use as a phone, and b) has lousy coverage. Verizon's service should be much better. Only downside is that Verizon is CMDA, not GSM so no coverage out of the country.

I would hardly use the 7230 as a comparison to the 7250 devices are night and from one to the next. The 7250 is an excellent device, ask yourself do you prefer the traditional BB QWERTY keypad or SureType?

The latest is a 11/14 release for B2B customers and Internet sales. Stores should have them within 7 days from that date.

Why would T-Mobile want to use a CDMA device. They are on GSM. T-Mobile already has a 7100 and 7105T model. If you meant the 8700, well there are entire threads on that question.

Of course I meant that it would be a GSM version of the 7130. The 7105 is basically the 7100 with a couple cosmetic changes. It seems the 7130 is dramatically different, but I could be wrong.

According to Engadget, the 7130 looks more like an 8700 than a 7100. So I guess we have to wait for the T-Mobile 8700.

Do anyone have an update on the availability of the 7130 through Verizon? Last I heard, it was supposed to be released today through Online Sales & B2B...

Default Latest on 7130

Just came from a Verizon store outside of Boston. The latest scoop is the phone will be available B2B in December and in the stores in Jan. They have a picture and everything on their internal website.

Initial info with other links

O.k., so the 7130e is on the Verizon website, but i have spoken to two reps and they cannot order it. What is that all about? They tell me that there are no special options given to new customers, but I put a 7130e into a online order as a "new customer" and it went all of the way to checkout. However, I cannot order one either online, or through the stores as an existing customer?

Anyone know how I can get one of these since it appears that the VZW reps don't know what the heck is going on?????????

Good old FRUSTRATING Verizon.....

I'm in NH. Spoke with my Retail rep yesterday. He is expecting to have a 'demo' unit for me to look at Wednesday (he is still trying to confirm this) but says retail sales cannot be taken until Dec 1st.

If he does call and if I do get down to see it I'll let you know.

call the internet order customer service. Tell them the phone is not availabel as an option for an upgrade.

They should tell you to order one as a new user, then call in with the order number. They will try and capture the order and change it to an upgrade, if they miss it, then when you get the new phone, call the internet order customer service to activate. They will activate is as an upgrade and eliminate the new number.

I just ordered a 7130e from my Verizon Buisness Rep. Retail Price was $419.99, upgrade price was $149.99, my price with the new every two discount was $49.99. I will have it at 10am tomorrow morning and will try to answer any questions then. My calling plan with 450 anytime minutes, unlimited Verizon calling, unlimited nights and weekends, and unlimited data is $66.79 a month + taxes. I declined the tethering option at this time but may get it to try out.

And was the tethering option just an additional $15.00??
