Is it just me or does the build quality of the 7200 series seem far better then that of the 8700. all the 8700's i have seen feel low quality. The buttons on the 7200s have a much better feel and the scroll wheel on the 8700 just feels like crap. i dont know if its just me, of if the 8700s just arent as high quality as some other models. what do you think?

I love the build quality of the 8700. It is different - lighter for sure - than the 7200 but I have received zero complaints for the many people here who use them. In fact, some 7290s and 7100s seem to be suddenly no longer working once people see the 8700.

It's different, but not any cheaper.

Not me. Took me twenty minutes to adjust to the 8700g keyboard and now the 72xx series just look archaic next to it. I actually picked a friends 7290 last week and played around with it... I couldn't believe I used to use it.

Still drop my 8700g at least once a day... Occasionally one of my children wander off with it when I am not looking... Not even a scratch (yet). Feels great to me.
