Is ther a way to lock the connections so that I don't mistakenly uncheck the connections? Thanks

No, you cannot lock this down. But it's not that easy to change accidentally. You have to be pretty deliberate to do this.

Thanks for the reply - I seem- to be good at touching the screen in teh wrong place when I put it in the case !

I do the same thing. The alternative is to install a different theme that doesn't have the touch area for connections right where my thumb always seems to go. I had a standard today theme that worked for that but it didn't support all of the other good things the Torch does. I'd suggest trying other themes until you find one that meets your needs but doesn't have connections where you'll hit it accidentally.
