On my old Verizon phone (The EnV) I used Backup Assistant to keep all my numbers. The blackberry does not support this (and I wasnt a huge fan of it anyway...) but what are some good contact programs like for the computer to store contacts and transfer them to blackberry? idk what is even out there or what features etc so any recomendations and info would be awesome! Thanks!

I just sync my contact and calendar with Micrsoft Outlook. It works well.

You also don't need to sync them with an application. You can just backup your data using the desktop manager if your goal is only to have a backup

Can't you sync the contacts by pairing the two phones through bluetooth? That's assuming you still have the EnV.

Yes, Google Mobile Sync is really nice. And this way I can view my contacts online from where ever I am at the time. I can also edit them too as well.

My only problem with Google Contact sync is that it doesn't appear to sync my contact photos..

I agree. I wonder if Google plans on implementing this ever. Is there an address we can email or a Groups channel in which we can make suggestions?

I too don't have Outlook on my new laptop, only Windows Mail. I've been trying Google Sync for 2 days and am ready to pull my hair out. Calendar from the BB to Google just won't show up in Google. I put several appointments in Google Calendar last night, can't find them on the calendar today. Contacts from BB to Google work fine, but Google to BB puts all of the wrong info in the wrong fields on my BB. I also don't like how contacts are listed in Google, aphabetical my first name, and I can't find an option to do it by last name.

Is there some other half-way decent option for syncing my contacts with my BB? Or should I just say screw it, I'll just do everything on the BB and not use my laptop for emails?

I was in the same dilemma when I first got my BB Storm. It seemed Outlook was my only solution, so as much as I didn't want to buy more s/w, I pulled the trigger on Outlook. Long story, short, I don't know how I lived without it all this time. It's much more than just a means of storing contacts.

I used Outlook on my past 2 PCs, mainly for email, never for calendar. Now I'm starting to use my personal laptop and BB for work and I want to be able to have the option to use either at any given time to email and find phone numbers. I can live with just the BB for email, contacts and calendar, using the laptop for reading what I can't read on the BB (attachments and "forward-forward-forwards" that take forever to scroll through before I get to the body of the email) and printing.

you Dell for offering Windows Mail instead of Outlook '07 on my new laptop.
