Default Has anyone heard if....

They will ever be a blackberry with a sideways slider - a full length slider with a full keyboard? The tourch is fine, but the slider is still the noraml width of the device. Now, a side slide out would be cool and, obviously, the display would need to compensate for using the device sideways instead of upright.

Anyone heard if this is in the plans?

there have been talking about one but nothing in production yet of a landscape slider check it out on n4bb.com

RIM seems to be willing to make anything -- sort of like the expression, "Let's throw it against the wall and see if it sticks."

My bet is you'll probably see one from RIM eventually.

But I really have absolutely no information, nor educated guess.

I sen to recall engadget having a post about a RIM patent concerning a sideways keyboard over a year ago. It could have been before the Storm even came out. Nothing ever materialized.

Here is what I was thinking of:
RIM patents a QWERTY slider, HTC lawyers perk up their ears -- Engadget

Probably one of the Torch concepts that got left behind for the Pre-like slider (yes I know Samsung had a PPC phone, the i730, with a similar slider first, but not many people kow about that device)
