I used to have this exact same problem. I even bought a new battery from BlackBerry Storm Accessories, but in the end nothing helped. Than I was complaining about my battery one day in line to a friend and the guy behind me suggested to turn off GPS. Since I enver used it anyways, I did so and it's like I'm using a normal old flip phone now. My battery never runs out on me...

Interesting, GPS does not put an excessive drain on my battery (some increased use noticed, but nothing that would drain the phone in-holster so quickly). I would've guessed an OS upgrade would be needed.

That may actually explain then why my battery life has suddenly taken a severe downturn. Upgrading to .148 helped a little, but I don't get the best signal out here at my new house. Unfortunately, turning the phone off when here isn't an option as it's my only phone. :\

I have noticed the same thing with my phone. Battery life is much shorter than the curve. That being said, I also noticed that while at work I do not have as good coverage as the curve. The Storm is always looking for service so I just keep it plugged in at work. I used my phone here at home and was talking on it for almost 2 hours with hardly any drainage. So, I do believe that battery life has a lot to do with signal strength. JMO
