Default Multiple BES Server Advice

Please Login to Remove!

We do BB software development and have a BES running 4.1.x. We're beginning to get customers asking about BES 5.0 and I'm trying to figure out how I should proceed. I'm planning on cloning our existing server VM and upgrading the clone to 5.0. We only have about 4 devices hooked up to our BES.

Requirements:
1: BES server 4.1.x must be available for testing configurations, etc
2: BES server 5.0 must be available for testing configurations, creating new user guide, etc
3: The two BES servers *do not* need to be running simultaneously.

Questions:
1: Can I run both simultaneously if I keep mailboxes and devices separated between the two BES servers?
2: Does anyone know the details of the Dev License for BES servers?

Can someone give me some advice on this setup or where else to look?

Thanks,
Pat

The SRP can be on 1 online server at any given time. So if alternate shutdown/startup between the two server it should work.

AFAIK there are no BES development license.

If you want a Dev / Temp license you need to contact T-Support / your TAM. If your eligible you'll be given one. If you're not ... try asking really nicely.

It would be nice if RIM had this posted some where.
Thanks for the head up.

The old T-Support site used to list this. IIRC you needed Tx3 to get temp SRPs

Not true ... if you knew the T-Support offerings you'd know it. I know plenty of people without T-Support or with lower levels of T-Support that know what each level offers ... it helps when you're trying to justify costs.

In these economic times trying to justify spending money on something that works is even harder, until it fails to a point forums can't handle it fast enough.

Ok; but what does that have to do with knowing T-Support options?
