Gosh, I thought that is what "sales monkeys", and the rest of us are in it for, in one form or another, the bottom line. Or does the the term "bottom line" confuse you? Heaven forbid that SOMEBODY actually make a profit, or does the term "profit" confuse you?

No offense intended, but don't you think it's time to catch up with a Capitalist society?

Anyway, just my 2 cents worth...write me off as a jack**s and enjoy your BB in this introverted Communist society.

One of the problems with this thread and a source of confusion is that people aren't always being clear about what they're getting from whom. It appears that anyone who has successfully ordered or received an 8700g through TMo is either going through a corporate rep and/or starting new service or adding an additional line. . . For those of us who just want a handset upgrade, this doesn't do the trick.

How does TMobile handle the situation where you add a line (new 8700G) to an existing account and then (after the trial period) discontinue service on your old phone / port your number to the 8700G. Is it necessary to be into your contract a certain duration or percentage (by real-world standards) before the ETF is not an issue?

This is certainly possible with Verizon via ESN swap, but concerned that the same flexibility may not exist with TMo. Maybe a GSM vs CDMA limitation?

I think you missed the point of that post. The poster said the salespeople do NOT get commission. This was said in response to a post that described bad service by a tmobile rep. In other words, the poster is saying that since the rep doesn't have any real personal stake in the transaction the rep didn't care if he didn't make the sale.

I order it on the 13th and the UPS web site are still stuck on the 13th, no update yet.

As for the $50 rebate, I when to the rebate site http://www.tmobilerebates.com/splash.asp , under Businesses & Reps
and it prompt me for the user name and pass word, does the info comes with the new phone?

Not sure how they handle it but I think it's be possible. But I think it would require you to wait out at least a 1 year contract. Not positive though.

Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately, I was advised by a TMo CSR that because TMo doesn't have towers in the Carolinas, if my roaming exceeded 70% on either voice or data(which is fairly likely), TMo would cancel my service unilaterally. Even though TMo piggybacks on Cingular's towers here, it looks like the 8700G may not be a viable option for me.

I tried the 8700C from Cingular which sold me on the formfactor but need better plan pricing. Anyone know if this issue of roaming is more theoretical than real? Anyone experienced with using TMo who primarily live/work in the Carolinas? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Search and manuals are your friends. Such basic questions are answered all over the place.
