Unhappy 7290 getting "Device error: 377" Reset

Please Login to Remove!

hello all. this is my first post so if this is the wrong section i apologize in advance.

I was going about my business, I look at my 7290 and it had the hour glass rotating. usually this comes up when the BB is booting up i believe. I dont remember turning it off or anything. it wouldnt boot up. so i took out the battery , put it back in and now i just get the red led light come on, and then it says "Device Error: 377" and the word "reset" under it. I have tried connecting it to the pc, taking out the sim card, pretty much every combination you can think of. its weird cuz when i press the top button the light goes on then thats when the error comes other than that then its jsut there with a blank screen. someone lent me this phone to use temporarily and i really dont want to give them back something broken. any suggestions anyone? all help is appreciated.

You need to wipe your BB using JL_CMDER and reload your operating system

You can find instruction on how to accomplish this in the BBFAQ section just follow the link in my signature.

I'd post link but I am wap and not able to

Easier said than done methinks - my BB 7290 also shows error 377 but all attempts to access it via USB to reinstall the software result in a "device not found". This occurs with the battery in situ or removed. The only other sign of life is a red light which blinks twice and then pauses for several seconds before repeating, and does so for a few cycles even with the battery removed. I've used the J-Cmmdr software allegedly to "wipe" it but I'm unsure if that works since there's no evidence that it can make a connection any better than the Device Manager. This is one frustrating piece of equipment!

I had the same problem. I just ditched the phone. I was too fed up with it to try and salvage it.
