Silly question I know, but I just got the Blackberry from an eBay listing and I need to remove the battery to insert the SIM card on the back of the device. However, upon trying, it seems like the battery is really packed in there. Doing a couple searches, I didn't see anyone else having similar issues. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Do you just pry it out of there?
I just don't want to ruin the battery here. Anyhoo, thanks guys!
I don't see how the 8800 is any different then the 8830, but a letter opener? Come on... With the phone vertically (same orientation as you'd use it) flip it over and take the battery cover off. Then in this same vertical, but back side orientation put your fingernail under the left side of the battery edge and pull up. Should pop right up with no force whatsoever. The battery is inserted into these units in such a way that in "hinges" in place so that it won't fall out even if your cover comes off. With that said, you have to "unhinge" it when you pull it out. Think of it like opening a door if you will and it'll be super easy to pull out.
I just stick a finger nail into the left crack on the left side of the battery, it comes right out for me. I also noticed that the more you open and close the battery door, the easier it gets to remove it as well.
