Default Data loss issues.

Please Login to Remove!

I have created this to see if it is a carrier issue or a phone issue. If you have the issue select your carrier, if you dont have the issue select "no problems"

Please refer to this topic if you have no idea what this is about.

Do you mean the call log and SMS/message loss?

That is not carrier specific, it is "low-memory" specific, is documented as an issue as such by RIM.

Sorry I should be more specific. We have an issue with being in an area with data connection surfing the web or downloading something, then all of the sudden it says no data connection, then when you turn the phone off or turn all connections off then back on we get data. It also drops sometimes from EVDO to 1x data.

ok, signal loss, not data loss, in other words.

In several years, I have never experienced that with TMo or AT&T.

No we have signal we can make calls just no data. We get a messages that says "you are currently in an area with no data". The phone portion works fine. But a quick reset or turing off the connection then back on fixes the issue.

Folks, I have had this happen on a Pearl and an 8830 (2 different ones) both of the 8830's had .176 (one installed, one out of the box) I tried rolling back to .148 and had the same problem until I removed IMPlus and started using JiveTalk trial instead. So far, BB has been stable longer than any time before. I am about to upgrade back to .176 to test. Are any of the rest of you using IMPlus?

Kind of like Trillian for the BB. Logs onto all major instant messaging systems.

John, are you having the data drop problem? If so, can you maybe try removing implus and using the jivetalk trial?

I cannot speak definitively for John, but I do know he is already using JiveTalk, and very very very likely doesn't have IM+ loaded at all.
