Trying to figure out how to get a reminder alarm when setting an appointment in my calendar. I set the date and the time then enter a reminder, i.e., 30min ahead of the appointment. At that time it does nothing. Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

Are you running the latest version of the OS?

Go get the latest OS for your 8830 from here:

John, thanks for the inforamtion. What I just did do is download a patch from BB and that at least brings up the alarm now, however, it's not audible nor did it viberate. Should it? The only indicator was the red light began to blink.

rharris... make sure you set your Profiles, the Calendar Alert off mute and on a tone you can hear... look at this and follow the instructions, you will be fine.

Glad you got the patch. Follow JSanders tip for getting the alerts. I didn't recommend the patch because the OS update addresses other issues than just the calendar patch as there are other bug fixes in the OS. There have been quite a few updates since the first OS versions.
