So, after deliberation, I got an 8130 tonight. I now need to learn how to enter into the smart phone world, as this was my first one. I got the data plan as well, so I can utilize all the features.

Should I get the pocketmac v4.0.20b download? Or is there something else I should be going for?

Any suggestions on apps for a 20 year old college student?

Congrats on the new BB, too. Will you be syncing to a Mac or PC?

If a PC, you will want Desktop Manager, version 4.2, SP2, or v. 4.3.

For apps--check any one of the other threads for killer, must-have hot apps. Look in our Aftermarket Software section here.

you probably have a Mac so check out the Mac Users Corner; but i've gotta tell you i use Windows with mine sometimes

Check out the 8100 series forum, that's where you'll find stuff specific to your Pearl.

Some basics you'll want on your Pearl (IMHO):

- Windows Live Search (OTA link: Untitled Page)
- Google Maps (OTA Link: http://www.google.com/gmm/apps/v2.0....=42&ver=v2.0.1)
- Soft Reset - allows you to restart your Pearl w/out pulling the battery out. (OTA link: http://www.geekandproud.net/blackber.../softreset.jad)
