I am sure that this has been discussed before, and equally sure that there is no simple answer, but I wondered if anyone could help me in choosing a BB?

I have decided on T-mobile UK as provider, and it carries the Pearl (I have tried my friend's, but want full QWERTY), the 8310 and the 8800.

I have had a look at an 8800 belonging to a friend of a friend, and it seems to be nice to look at, well-made, and with a nice-sized keyboard and screen.

The guy at T-mobile advised me to think about the 8310. I've had a look in carphone warehouse, although it was a dummy. It could have been BECAUSE it was a dummy, but it seemed a bit more flimsy than the 8800, although keypad etc seemed solid enough. I know it's a girly thing to say, but then I AM a girl, so I can get away with saying that I didn't think it looked as nice as the 8800.

I have had a look through the specs, and they seem very similar, so long as you don't want a camera (I won't use one). The battery life seems longer on the 8800, and I have found specific mention of a document viwer on the 8800 but not the 8310 (although I'm pretty sure it will have one, to read e-mail attachments etc).

So I just wondered which you'd advise? For looks, I'd go with 8800, but if that means losing out on functionality, I'd be happy to go with the 8310.

I believe T-Mobile has the 8320. If you are looking at that and the 8800, you need to think about what features are most important to you. Like I have mentioned in previous posts, the most important feature to me is the size of the keyboard. Since they both have the full QWERTY, with each key having its own letter, I found that the 8320 is better in MY hand, and the keys for me felt a little more comfortable. That is obviously a decision you should make, because your hands are different than mine, and what's good for me isn't always good for you. Another main difference is the WiFi/GPS difference. The 8800 has a built in bluetooth receiver so you can get GPS on there with no additional purchase (try Nav4all for a good, FREE) app. If WiFi is something you are interested in, go with the 8320.

i think the 8800 seems more bulky in pictures. it looks really nice in real life!

I love the sold feel and weight of the 8800!
The keyboard while having grown used to it isn't as easy for me to use as on 8700 or 83xx
