Default Syncing WORK BB on HOME computer...possible?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

My Blackberry is owned by my company, and it has an IT policy on it. I would like to now if there is a work around to allow it to sync on my home computer, but not getting rid of the IT policy.

I know an option is to remove the IT policy, but I would like to avoid that IF possible. Would my company know if I removed the IT policy? I was thinking I could remove it, and go sync it at work, and then come back and sync it at home. Possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You don't need to remove the IT policy to sync your BlackBerry with your home computer.
Just disable wireless sync for each of your PIM functions (Address Book, Calendar, memos, tasks)

In each of the modules, go into Options and set Wireless Synchronization to Off.

Your company may not want you doing this, so you should definitely check with them first.

Not a good idea, IMHO, to mess with trying to work around an IT Policy. Your company owns the BB. Your company pays the bills. Don't mess with it. Not worth the trouble and complications.

At the very least, speak to your BB Admin or IT Staff to see if it is even allowed.

How do you disable the wireless sync of each PIM function? I do not understand the "go into each of the modules" part. This is my personal phone as well, so I will not be taking from the company. No worries there.

Sorry for the confusion daphne,

The Blackberry I use is owned by the company I work for, and it is also used as my personal phone, therefore I have numbers/addresses that do not pertain to work on it. Does this help clear things up for you?

Yes, that's clear. But as the others said, since the device is owned by your company, it could be trouble to remove the IT policy or use it in a way that's outside what they allow.

Alright, well than let's look back to what Penguin said, and do it that way. All I need is a little better explanation of what each "module" means. Thanks for the help so far!

Default BB synch to home and office computer

IS there a way to synch the BB to my home computer without turning off the wireless synch between my BB and office PC?

Calendar is a module.
Address book is a module.
Tasks is a module.
MemoPad is a module.

You should have an icon for each of them on your BlackBerry.
For each one... click its icon and then do this:
~ Click the trackwheel button.
~ Scroll down to Options and click that.
~ Scroll to the 'Wireless Syncrhonization' option and change the setting from Yes to No.
~ Save your changes.
