No. It's not.

The 8703e uses a blue, C-S2 battery.
The 8830 uses a green C-X2 battery.

They are not interchangeable.

Are you looking for a new battery for your 8830? There may be some on Amazon for the CX-2's... I recently bought a slew of CS-2 batteries for work because we have a lot of 8700 devices without batteries. Got them really cheap on amazon, would recommend you do the same!
