Angry Keeps switching on and off!

Hi Guys,

Not sure if I'm in the right section, feel free to move it moderators.

Ok, so my blackberry 8820 is brand new, aside from my stingy operator makes you keep your existing battery and cover, not a problem, never had a problem with either.

My problem is that since havin the new phone, I have spent some time faffing with it to get it all to my liking and now the no good son of a gun keeps turning on and off all by itself, its frustrating because its only on for about 2 mins and its off for at least 5 whilst it reboots (black screen, then white screen with timer, then a whole lot of nothing, then my operator logo, then security testing, then i enter password) and low and behold off it goes again. Arrgh, I'm about ready to throw it out the window

I've taken batt and sim card out and cleaned and dusted and what have you, still nothing.

Any advice would be so very much appreciated.

Thanks! x

I had to put a small piece of plastic between the top of the battery and the phone because a gentle bump would cause the phone to restart. The plastic gives the battery a snug fit, and my phone has not restarted since.

Call your provider and tell them its defective. RIM is much better then other providers as they just replace the unit with a new one for the first year.

Its new, Whey mess with it, Right?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

I agree. Then again, I would also take a look at the media card if a media card is in the device.

Why would the media card be a problem ? My 8800 is also restarting frequently if I insert the media card ....what to do ?
