Default 8700 questions

I bought a 7290 from Ebay a bit back and have enjoyed it, although there are some things I wish iit could do, email for instanceNow, i'm looking at the 8700 and I'm wondering what is the difference, other than it being slimmer?? Would you guys help me out here and give me any info to help me make my decision??
