Could try reloading the OS using Desktop Manager. Download the latest firmware from your carrier and install. Then connect your BB to Desktop Manager and it will prompt you for the update.

Most commonly a corrupt database. Rey reloading the address book using a backup that ocurred before you had the problems.

Does the carrier match your phone software? If not you'll need to delete the Vendor.XML file from your hard drive to allow using another carrier's software on your phone (this is reasonably safe to do)

If the version of the handheld software is the same as what is on your phone, you will need to wipe the phone to initiate a software reload.

First! Back up the data!!!
Second! Go to the Application Loader. Enter your password incorrectly 10 times. This will cause the phone to initiate a "self destruct" After a few minutes it will reboot with an error code 507 which means Missing Operating System (or Missing Software) Then when you launch the application loader, you will be prompted to reload. Make sure you look at the check boxes carefully, don't do something silly like unchecking the phone or browser.

If you don't know where to get your phone software, see the OS 4 upgrade thread in the RIM software area on this forum.
