I have just moved to France from Australia changing from Macquarie Carrier to France telecom ORANGE. Now I can't receive or send emails or dial out from the address book. But can dial out and receive calls otherwise

Have you changed your BIS service to the French carrier, entered their BlackBerry Internet service site and changed your PIN to their service?

You might have to edit the country code in the phone. In the call log press the menu key >options>Smart dialing and look on top. France should be set to +33. Try that.
