Default Help! Can't use blackberry after trying to download a game

Please Login to Remove!

I was trying to download a pacman game, and it would'nt let me. Now, all it does is shows a spinning hourglass, then goes to a black blank screen, with the light turning red, back to the hourglass spinning over and over again. I even tried pulling the sim card and battery for 3 minutes. What should I do?

Sounds like that program corrupted a system file.

You could try connecting your BlackBerry to your computer and use the DM to hopefully get a connection and then try removing the application.
Short of that you may have to wipe the device with jl_cmder to reinstall the OS.

Hopefully a genius out there will give you better odds and help you out. But if you've pulled the battery a few times and still get stuck, there might not be much left to do.

LOL, sorry about that. What I was saying is that the installation process for your game might have damaged a system file for your phone or has some routine that the phone has problems running.

Normally a battery pull would rectify the situation initially, allowing the to be able to remove the offending application. Seeing that you have removed the battery and the problem still exists, then its a bit more problematic.

I'm therefore saying that you should install the Desktop Manager program on your PC and then connect your device to it. Hopefully you'll get a connection and then you can try uninstalling the offending application that way.

If that's not possible, then you will have to search this forum for instructions on how to use the jl_cmder application to remove the phone OS and replace it with a fresh copy, which you can find here also. Just go to the forum that deals with your device.

I hope that was a wee bit clearer.

You can download the DM from the BlackBerry website and the go to the 8700 forum to get both the updated OS and the DM.

But I would recommend doing some reading first before trying the upgrade.

Default old OS

i have a company blackberry and they loaded a new app and the blackberrys that had an older os had the same thing happen as yours. The problem was the os wasnt compatable with the app. My guess your os is not up to spec with what the game needs. You need to download the latest os version for your version of blackberry and then try loading the game again.

Good luck
