Default Address Book Transfer - BES to Non-BES

Please Login to Remove!

Guys & Gals,
Looking for a bit of help. I did search prior to posting.

My previous employer shut off BES and post-shut off I was having problems so I reinstalled the OS on my BB. I don't have my addresses now.

Is there an easy way to import my address book from Outlook into my Blackberry?

I backed up my BB before I reinstalled the OS - is there a way to partially restore? The problem that I think I was having was the BB kept trying to hit the BES to sync addresses & emails. I just want my addresses back.

Thx.

You could do an advanced restore of the backup file you created.

Connect your device to your PC and launch DM. Select Backup/Restore and then select advanced. Click on File > Open and select your most recent backup. Then select the Address book database. Click on the arrow to move it to the device database.

can't sync with outlook because the profile i'd be trying to sync with was attached to the BES so even though it was cashed locally with an OST file it's still trying to connect to the BES.

I tried to do an advanced restore before I posted this and I can't select individual things like the address book. Anything else I can do?

Thx

Make sure you have wireless sync set to no on the device.

Address Book > Options > wireless sync = No.

Can you sync your Outlook to googlesync, upload your contacts to google, then add googlemobile to your BB and sync your contact that are now listed in your gmail back to your BB. I find this a good "backup" for my calendar and contacts...I sync anytime before I load a new OS on my 8830
