Can someone please help?

Why is it that SMS & MMS messages do not show up on the list on Today Theme Precision that has come installed on the 9700 Bold that i own?

Emails show, but other dont apart from displaying an unread message when i receive a text...

Please help as i am confused...

I think it's because the entry on the today screen is for MESSAGES (e-mail) vs SMS/MMS messages...

make sure that the icon is not hidden, in a folder or hidden in a folder. to check if the icon is hidden, press the menu key and check off "show all". this should make any icon that is has been hidden in the main menu or in a folder show up as a transparent version of the normal icon. if you find a transparent version of the sms/mms icon, just highlight it, press the menu key, and uncheck "hide".

The issue is not a missing/hidden icon... it's that the SMS/MMS messages do not show up on the MESSAGES list section of a TODAY screen.

do they show up if you actually select the messaging icon in the main menu and view the full message list?

yeah they do show up on the message list, but dont show on the home screen under messages... used to show on my pearl... so why not now!?

Do you have a separate icon for SMS/MMS? It may be that the setting to separate the SMS/MMS messages from email is driving what does/does not show in the message list on the today screen. Since it's a 9700 (all have 5.x OS), go to Messages / Options / Inbox Settingss and look to see what is checked under the Other Message Types... is SMS and MMS checked or not? Try changing that setting to see if it make any difference on the TODAY screen. (But regardless of the TODAY screen, it will add/remove an icon for SMS/MMS).

This hasn't worked since OS 5.0 with threaded SMS messaging was implemented.
